Social Media Story
The Project:
Our task was to create a Social Media campaign that tells a story of a brand or organization through a series of Instagram posts. My thought process was to tell the story of my chosen brand or organization in a way that was not being displayed on Instagram. In terms of what brand or organization we chose, we had full discretion to pick who we’d like. At the time, Major League Baseball was having a lockout with its players. Due to these reasons, the MLBPA, which is the players association account, was not explaining to their fans via social media, what was really going to. So I decided to tell it for them.
-Duration: 1 Week
-Methods: Research
-Tools: Canva, Instagram
My Role:
Design and layout, captions. Since this was an individual project, all work was done by me.
The Process:
The first steps included researching why Major League Baseball was having a lock out, being a baseball fan, I already knew but I wanted to think from the perspective of the audience. The next step included information design, where I structured the information to tell the story of why the MLB was in a lockout. After that I uniquely designed each post to appeal to the audience, keeping in mind color and a baseball theme. Once the designs were done, I created captions for each of them.
The Final Product:
