The Project:

Enhance Data Visualization and Adoption Analytics

Our AHA project (Admin Hub Analytics) aimed to enhance data visualization for organizational security practices and adoption analytics within the Atlassian Administration. This project addresses key problems for administrators by streamlining visibility, enabling them to understand their organization's security posture and assess the utilization of the products they manage.


The Strategy:

Craft High-Quality Content with Actionable Insights

To address the lack of visibility into the organization’s security practices and user adoption analytics, we interviewed administrators to understand their needs, behaviors, and preferred communication methods. After analyzing our research, my design partner and I developed clear and concise visual designs and layouts that effectively communicate to administrators using plain language and actionable insights. This solution included multiple sets of charts organized with a structured content hierarchy, featuring headings, subheadings, and descriptions.

Creating each chart involved collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of requirements, consistency across multiple products and features, and terminologies. To achieve the best content outcomes, we explored various approaches to UI information presentation and underwent several rounds of content critique.

Users charts

Users charts offer a clear description of the chart and the number of users and domains with access to their products. From the call-to-action (CTA), administrators can view domains and users and perform specific actions such as verifying domains and claiming accounts.

User security charts

Administrators are presented with three user security charts, each accompanied by clear and concise descriptions that explain its purpose. Through the call-to-action (CTA) buttons, administrators can manage accounts to enforce security practices, review external user settings, and access policy information.

Jira usage charts

Jira usage charts offer administrators detailed descriptions to help them understand product utilization for Jira within their organizations. Through the call-to-action (CTA) button, administrators can identify inactive users and decide whom to resend invites.

Error states

In instances where Atlassian Insights fail to load or datasets are unavailable for an organization, we have implemented error and missing dataset screens.

Release notes

To inform administrators about the introduction of new charts and additional feature upgrades in Atlassian Administration, we issued release notes on separate dates that corresponded with each upcoming release.
