Presidio Video

The Project:

For our Digital Storytelling class, we were challenged to create a video story exploring a central question, mystery, or problem. Since our university is located in San Francisco, CA, I wanted to uncover the hidden history of the most historic neighborhood in San Francisco, the Presidio. In this video, I asked the audience, what really happened in the Presidio?

  -Duration: 2 Weeks

-Methods: Research, Script, B-Roll, Soundtrack, Editing, Production

-Tools: Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, YouTube, Adobe Audition

My Role:

I did this video project solo to create valuable material for my portfolio. From the script, to the storyboard, the soundtrack, and everything else, I completed solo. Everything was done by me.

The Process:

The first steps included conducting research on the Presidio, the Presidio has a lot of history to it, more than I mentioned in the video, so I pinpointed important historic facts I thought would keep my audience engaged. After that, I went down to the Presidio neighborhood myself, taking videos and writing down areas I would like to tackle. The next step included creating a storyboard and script. Once the storyboard and the script were created, I went into Adobe Audition and recorded a voiceover for the video. Once the voiceover was completed I gathered my B-Roll along with additional images and videos from YouTube to fit the script. After that I edited the soundtracks and videos in Adobe Premiere Pro, synching them together to create the finished product. The last step included finding background music to fit the vibe I was trying to get off for the video.

The Final Product:

(Presidio Video.)
